Gotiti – Washed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

Gotiti – Washed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

A high-altitude washed Ethiopian coffee from Gotiti kebele in Gedeb, Yirgacheffe, produced by smallholder farmers working at 2,100–2,170 metres above sea level.

The coffee is sourced and overseen by Eyasu Lole, who works with both male and female farmers from the surrounding area. After harvest, the cherries are delivered to a local wet mill, where they are carefully sorted and floated before processing.

This is a fully washed lot. The coffee undergoes around 12 hours of dry fermentation before being sun-dried on African raised beds for 12–15 days, helping preserve clarity and structure in the cup.

The lot is made up of indigenous Ethiopian heirloom varieties, grown in one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee-producing regions. Harvest runs from October through early January.

The farms also benefit from shade provided by Enset, or false banana trees, a traditional agroforestry practice that supports biodiversity and soil health while also providing an important local food source.

Beyond coffee quality, the supply chain also places a strong emphasis on producer support. Ephtah Coffee works with farmers through agronomy training, post-harvest support and long-term sourcing relationships, with a particular focus on supporting women in coffee through its Ama Commitment initiative.
